Since 1999, Dutch based and privately owned company Khaeon has rapidly grown from a start-up game development outfit into one of the leading game creators in the region. With work wrapping up on the soon to be released Unreal™ Engine based MMORPG “The Chronicles of Spellborn”, Khaeon is now focusing on new projects including Japan GameJam competition winner “Water Power” and a yet to be announced triple A project.



Khaeon wins the Japan GameJam! Wednesday, April 23th 2008

On Tuesday a jury consisting of representatives from Cell, Taito, the Dutch Embassy in Japan and the Dutch games industry chose Khaeon’s Water Power as the best entry for the Japan GameJam competition. The competition was launched to promote the Netherlands as a game developers country in Japan.  Participants were challenged to create a Dutch themed mobile game for the Japanese market.

Water Power turns the idea of water management into a fun puzzle game in which the player needs to solve a series of top-down mazes using the mobile phone’s tilt sensor to control the rising water level.

Over the next few months, Water Power will be developed into a full featured product that will be presented on the Tokyo Game Show in Japan in September.
